Pinehirst Education Prepares for GCSE Results Day 2025

Excitement is building at Pinehirst Education as students prepare to collect their GCSE results tomorrow, Thursday 21 August 2025, from 8:00 a.m.

Staff will be on hand to provide support and guidance, ensuring learners are ready for the next steps in their education, apprenticeships, or vocational training.

1. 📅 When Are GCSE Results Released?

GCSE Results Day is Thursday, 21 August 2025. Pinehirst students can collect their results from 8:00 a.m. onsite, with staff available to offer advice and reassurance.

2. 📩 How Will Students Receive Grades?

  • In person at Pinehirst Education – Students will collect sealed envelopes, choosing whether to open them with peers and staff or privately.

  • Digital trial (national) – Around 100,000 students across Greater Manchester and the West Midlands will receive results via the Education Record app, but Pinehirst encourages in-person collection for full support.

3. 🔢 Understanding the GCSE Grading System

GCSEs continue with the 9–1 scale:

  • 9 = highest grade

  • 4 = standard pass

  • 1 = lowest grade

4. 😬 What If Results Aren’t What You Expected?

  • Don’t panic. Staff are available to discuss options.

  • Resits: English and Maths retakes may occur in November; other subjects usually in summer 2026.

  • Appeals: Reviews of marking can be requested if necessary.

5. 📊 Grade Boundaries Explained

Exam boards publish grade boundaries on Results Day. Pinehirst staff will help learners understand how close they were to the next grade.

6. 🚀 Support and Next Steps at Pinehirst

  • Further education or apprenticeships: Guidance is available on applications.

  • Vocational training: Opportunities in rail engineering and land-based industries remain open.

  • Wellbeing and encouragement: Staff celebrate successes and provide reassurance for resits or alternative routes.
