Pinehirst Education Prepares for GCSE Results Day 2025
Excitement is building at Pinehirst Education as students prepare to collect their GCSE results tomorrow, Thursday 21 August 2025, from 8:00 a.m.
Staff will be on hand to provide support and guidance, ensuring learners are ready for the next steps in their education, apprenticeships, or vocational training.
1. 📅 When Are GCSE Results Released?
GCSE Results Day is Thursday, 21 August 2025. Pinehirst students can collect their results from 8:00 a.m. onsite, with staff available to offer advice and reassurance.
2. 📩 How Will Students Receive Grades?
In person at Pinehirst Education – Students will collect sealed envelopes, choosing whether to open them with peers and staff or privately.
Digital trial (national) – Around 100,000 students across Greater Manchester and the West Midlands will receive results via the Education Record app, but Pinehirst encourages in-person collection for full support.
3. 🔢 Understanding the GCSE Grading System
GCSEs continue with the 9–1 scale:
9 = highest grade
4 = standard pass
1 = lowest grade
4. 😬 What If Results Aren’t What You Expected?
Don’t panic. Staff are available to discuss options.
Resits: English and Maths retakes may occur in November; other subjects usually in summer 2026.
Appeals: Reviews of marking can be requested if necessary.
5. 📊 Grade Boundaries Explained
Exam boards publish grade boundaries on Results Day. Pinehirst staff will help learners understand how close they were to the next grade.
